Acne can occur at any age and if you have sensitive skin, then you are more prone to acne than others. It leaves behind scars and pits that some carry for life. But a little care can go a long way in keeping your skin acne free. However, if you already have acne, follow the given acne treatment tips for a clear and glowing skin.

1. Keep your face clean – This is the first step to treating acne. Use a cleanser that does not strip your skin of its oils to clean it. It should clean the oil on the surface of skin gently. This oil clogs the pores of skin and cause bacteria to build up which in turn causes acne. Splash cool water on your face and apply the cleanser in circular motion. Use a wash cloth to dislodge the blackheads and to cleanse skin of surface oil. But remember to change the cloth everyday.

2. Exfoliate – This is as essential as cleansing is. But too much of exfoliation can cause the acne to spread. It also results in inflammation of skin. Therefore, exfoliate once in a week but do it gently and only when you do not have acne.

3. Topical creams – There are a number of products available for sensitive skin. Use creams that contain Retin-A for topical application. They are effective but they dry the skin and irritate it. When you are using such products, ensure that you do not apply too much of the cream and if the skin is too irritated, then consult your physician to change the dosage.

4. Moisturizer – Moisturizer is essential not only for dry skin but also for oily and sensitive skin. Look for a moisturizer that has been specially formulated for sensitive skin as they maintain the oil balance of skin without causing acne.

5. Sunblock – Many people avoid using sunblock as they feel it may enhance the acne. However, it is only a myth. Using a sunblock protects sensitive skin. However, if you are using topical creams for acne treatment, apply the cream before applying the moisturizer or sunblock.

Apart from these, you can wash your face with water to which lavender oil has been added. This will calm and soothe acne prone skin and is an effective acne treatment. You can also get a facial done at a salon or at home to clear your skin of clogged pores.

When you are using skin care products ensure that they do not contain ingredients that clog pores and irritate skin. Diet and exercise play a major role in keeping your skin healthy and glowing. Keep away from oily foods and eat a lot of healthy foods with fiber. Sugar, coffee, tea and too many carbohydrates in your diet can cause skin inflammation leading to acne. Protect your skin and care for it so that it looks young and remains healthy in the years to come.

What are blackheads and how can you get rid of them? Blackheads can be defined as inflammations on the skin that are made up of the dead skin cells, dust, bacteria and oils that build up in the skins’ pores, and they discussed many people as they interfere with your natural beauty. Blackheads are caused by a number of factors including use of oily make ups, humidity, use of contraceptives, and air pollution among others.

Most people try to squeeze them out thinking that they will get rid of them only to make the situation worse as this only makes them spread to other parts. There are some ways on how to get rid of blackheads including the use of home remedies and the use of topical medication. There are a number of home remedies that are very effective in removing blackheads and one of them is observing personal hygiene. You should try to keep your skin clean at all times by washing it at least twice or thrice a day to wash off the dust and oil that build up to form blackheads. You should also avoid touching your face with dirty hands as this leads to contamination of your skin leading to blackheads.

Drinking lots of water is also another home remedy that can be used in getting rid of blackheads. Water helps to lubricate your body and also to drive out the toxins that are produced by your body in the form of sweat and urine which means that there will be no build up of the toxins in your skin. You should also avoid the use of too much oily make up as it leads to clogging of the skin pores, leading to accumulation of toxins and oils in them, and hence formation of blackheads. The use of Aloe Vera is also another way of getting rid of blackheads in that you can apply it on your skin regularly and it helps to moisturize your skin. Aloe Vera also helps to cure the scars brought by the blackheads by regenerating a smooth and soft skin.

The other effective method on how to get rid of blackheads is by the use of topical medication. Topical medication can be in the form of creams and gels. These creams and gels contain ingredients that help to remove the toxins from your skin, and restore its smoothness and color and these medications should be prescribed by a doctor.

Topical medication is usually applied on your skin where you have blackheads, and they are absorbed by the skin, and after using them for a minimum duration of one to two weeks, you will be able to see good results. There are other medications that you can take orally that are in the form of pills, and they are also effective in that they help to treat the skin from within your system and killing the bacteria that causes the blackheads. However caution should be taken when you are using these medications as some of them may contain ingredients that may react with your skin leading to adverse side effects.

The acne products that are available on the market today only treat the surface of the problem. Just by applying several creams or gels to you skin and hoping that it would work will not do the trick for you. In order to treat acne, it is essential that you understand what acne is. The root problem of unsightly acne and scars is not only what is happening on the outside of the skin, but also what is happening on the inside.

What is Acne?
Acne is a skin disorder that affects almost everybody on this planet at some point in their life. It most commonly appears on your face, neck, chest, back and shoulders. It’s caused by the buildup of sebum or oil inside your skin. Oil glands also known as sebaceous glands are located deep in the skin. These glands produce oil and when the pores are clogged, the sebum can block the hair follicle and result in a pimple.

So, acne starts from under the skin and ends up on the outside. It’s essential to treat it on the inside and out. Any acne remedy system that treats acne in only one way, will not fix the problem.

Acne Myths
There are some acne myths out there that are just not true. Common myths are:

Acne is caused by dirt. Acne is never cause by dirt. This does not mean that you should not keep your skin clear of any dust. Wash your skin with a mild soap.

Certain foods cause acne. Research has shown that food has nothing to do with acne. So, chocolate, French fries or coke do not cause an outbreak.

Acne is caused by too much sex. Your sexual habits have no effect on acne.

Best Acne Treatment
Like we said before, any acne solution must treat it from the inside and out. Modern research has shown that best results are achieved when you treat acne from all the sides. Many acne products are available over the counter these days.

Fortunately there is a product that really can help eliminate acne, reduce blemishes, clear up inflammation and go a long way to increasing your self-confidence and your outlook on life. This 3-part system not only works on your skin with topical creams, but also works on your skin with a unique internal herbal supplement that helps with the internal process of ensuring that your skin becomes blemish free.

This product is called ClearPores and is made up of 100% natural herbs. Mankind has been using these herbs for centuries to help solve skin problems. Natural ingredients include aloe vera, licorice root and cayenne just to name a few. These and other natural herbs in the amazing system work effectively to reduce inflammation, redness and irritation of the skin associated with acne. Atlantic Kelp is another important mineral that contains rich nutrients from the sea and works to smooth out your skin’s texture and gives it a ‘glowing’ look.

This product works flawlessly in decreasing acne and blemishes from your skin. It’s a 3 part system that contains:

Deep Facial / Body Wash: Highly effective facial wash unclogs the pores and gets rid of acne bacteria. Removes excess oil and dead skin cells from the pores.

100% Herbal Supplements: These supplements fight acne from the inside. Acne is the result of hormone imbalances. These supplements are very effective in correcting the hormone imbalances.

Facial Protection Cream: Protects your skin and the pores. When applied, keeps the pores from clogging.

Being embarrassed by those unsightly blemishes and aggravated pores really can be a thing of the past. Try this amazing system today and within days you will start to see results.

Try to get out more to prevent acne. Try taking relaxing outdoor walks, just avoid overexposure to the sun. Skin requires vitamin D, which you can get from the sun, but overexposure can be harmful and irritating to your acne. The fresh air can also let your skin absorb more oxygen, which can help it to repair itself.

If you have severe acne that produces cysts and lesions, you can visit a dermatologist to get a cortisone injection. These injections are shot into the site of your cyst to break up the puss and toxins and reduce the size and irritation that develops internally. In a few days, your acne cyst will disappear.

To help keep acne away try to keep your hands away from your face. Our hands stay dirty. When you touch your face you are putting bacteria and dirt on your face which has the potential to clog your skin’s pores. The dirt and bacteria that clogs the pores can lead to pimples.

If you have problems with acne, and have longer hair, make sure to keep your hair (and hair products) off your face, shoulders, neck, and back. If you have bangs, and have acne problems on your forehead, consider growing them out or pinning them back. The oil from your hair and hair products clog pores, leading to more breakouts.

Drinking water can help you to get rid of acne. When your skin gets too dry, the dead skin cells remain on your body, causing blocked pores. Aim to consume at least two liters of water every day. This will rejuvenate your dry skin and help with any acne problems that you might have.

Consider using a cleaner rather than bar soap to clean your face. The skin’s natural pH is 5.5, while bar soap typically has a pH of around 9. Bar soap can therefore alter the skin’s pH enabling the types of bacteria that cause acne to multiply. Bar soap also contains thickeners which can block pores. Finally, bar soaps strip the skin of all natural oils causing the sebaceous glands to overproduce oil leading to clogged pores.

To get rid of your acne, try spending more time outside under the sun. Exposing your skin to the sun causes it to dry up. At first, your acne might get worse because all the oil goes to the surface of your skin. This should clear up within a couple of weeks and your dry skin should not break out as much. Of course be careful of how much time you spend in the sun and be sure to be well protected

For those wanting to reduce the amount of acne they have, careful washing of the face every night before going to sleep can remove oils that can contribute to breakouts of whiteheads. It is important that you choose a cleanser that prevents or clears blackheads. This regular washing will result in a clearer face, and is not hard to adapt into a personal schedule.

Smoking is a topic frequently discussed by those in the know of how to get rid of acne. It can have a profound impact on your skin and can often yield acne. Smoking releases particles that can clog your pores and harm your body from the inside out. Every cigarette harms your internal capacity to reduce toxins, often causing acne as a result. Limit or quit smoking entirely to improve the way your face looks.

It began back in days when I was in my late teens. It started with one bump and shortly the whole face became a moon surface. It did not take very long for my friends to start making fun of me and start calling me moon face. What began as an ignored tiny bump soon turned into a nightmare.

It became soon evident that this was a genuine medical issue and could not be treated using home remedies. After a prolonged period of ignorance it so happened that every time I would touch my face it would pain and I could not even wipe clean my face after I would wash it. It was then my parents decided to consult a doctor and seek medical advice.

After thorough diagnosis I became evident that it is not only the hormonal changes that lead to acne, there are many factors which lead to acne. Keeping the face clean and oil free go a long way in helping keep face acne free. Food habits also play a major role in the aggravating acne. High consumption of oil and spicy food also catalysis the acne. If left untreated acne can also lead to permanent scar marks which in my case have caused an irreversible damage to my skin and is beyond repair.

In case of males it becomes extremely difficult to use razor for shaving as the un-even contour of the skin leads to cuts caused by the blade. there are some specific triggers which might cause acne and vary person to person. It is important to consult a dermatologist and get the right medication as home remedies might not be very effective and may not treat the root cause of the problem.

I was put under simple medication over a course of two months which included administering an oral pill on a daily basis and an ointment lotion which had to be applied twice a day. Soon I could notice a considerable amount of improvement and the bumps started to reduce. Every time I looked into the mirror it made me happier than before as every bump disappeared. Yet it left behind the sad memory of its presence the scars. At the same time my friends stopped teasing me and things started to get back to normal.

Also I would like to mention the loss of grades that I suffered from due to the lapse in my ability to concentrate and study. As my doctors treatment helped and improved the condition, I could set my mind free from thinking about it and was able to perform better. Soon I started noticing it happen to my other friends who were also in their late teens or adolescence and I was glad that I could guide them how to tackle it and save themselves from the suffering I had to go through.

Several years have passed and luckily I have not experienced this suffering again. All those who are suffering from acne, I know what It takes to bear the irritation and pain. Let me remind you that you are not the only ones experiencing it. Taking appropriate medical assistance will help you recover.

Aloe Vera is perhaps one of the most beautiful things that you can use on skin. I like to use it after the sun if I’ve become a bit burnt (although it’s never something that I aim to do of course) and it softens up dry skin just brilliantly. Aloe Vera can also be used on acne scarring to great effect. If you’ve currently got acne then using aloe vera straight after it fades can help to sooth the skin and prevent scars from forming. It can also be used on aged scars as well – it just takes a little bit longer to work.

When you’re using any natural remedy to treat your scars, it’s important to get the most natural product that you can. This is because often people that make the products that you buy only use a very small amount of the actual plant or remedy in it! For example my regular tube of aloe vera is mostly glycerin (gelling agent) and a bunch of other stuff that’s designed to make it sit in my cupboard for years.

Instead of just heading down to the supermarket to see what’s on offer, try your local health shop. They will usually have much better products to choose from, with more natural ingredients then non-natural ones. I suggest putting your cautious hat on though – sometimes products in ‘health’ stores are no better then the supermarket ones and they are double the price! A little caution goes a long way in these situations.

If you want to go really natural then avoid the supermarkets and the health stores all together and head on down to your local garden shop. At the garden shop purchase an actual aloe vera plant! How cool is that? Cutting off one of the fronds, squeezing out the gel and blending it with a little lemon juice (to preserve it) will yield a truly magical substance – untouched by chemicals and in its natural form. You can keep this lotion in the fridge for about a week.

Whichever route you choose, simply apply the solution to the face as a mask every evening before you go to bed. In the morning use some warm water and natural soap to clean it off. And repeat that following evening. Consistency is key to a successful treatment and you will find it can take several weeks or even months in order to achieve good results for your skin. However, it does work in many cases, and there really isn’t a nicer thing to put on your skin, is there? Aloe Vera is really beautiful.

Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT, is a common medical treatment that can relieve the symptoms of menopause. It is also sometimes used to lessen aging symptoms in men. Although it can be helpful, hormone therapy also comes with many health risks. For this reason, every person should discuss the decision to use hormone treatment with their doctor.

What is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone replacement therapy is a treatment that consists of medication prescribed to women by a family physician. The medication is designed to counteract the effects of menopause. These medications contain female hormones like estrogen and progestin, which is a man-made version of the naturally occurring progesterone. Hormone therapy can alleviate many symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes and vaginal symptoms. Although usually used to treat women, a form of hormone therapy for men is also available to treat low levels of testosterone.

History of the Treatment

Hormone therapy has been around since the 1930′s, when estrogen was used to treat hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms. In the 1960′s, doctors found more reasons to use HRT and family physicians began prescribing it more often. Throughout the next ten years, doctors used hormone therapy to treat everything from hot flashes to depression. It was approved by the FDA to treat menopause at first. In the 1980′s it was also approved to treat the loss of bone density. By 2002, it became apparent that hormone therapy can cause serious health problems and the frequency of prescription went down greatly.

Benefits to Hormone Replacement

There are a few benefits to using hormone replacement therapy in the short term. Women seem to gain protection against the loss of bone density, colorectal cancer and heart disease. Studies show that this lowers the chance of fractures and broken bones. The decrease in heart disease occurs when hormone therapy is started at the beginning of menopause. Of course, benefits also include the reduction in menopausal symptoms like mood swings and trouble sleeping as well.

Shortcomings of the Therapy

There are a number of side effects that have decreased the use of hormone therapy medication by family physicians over the past ten years. Taking estrogen medication without progestin increases the risk of uterine cancer. Long term use of hormone therapy is linked to abnormal mammograms, a higher risk of blood clots and an increased chance of certain cancers. For some, the benefits can outweigh the risks of hormone therapy, although family physicians usually recommend it only when menopause symptoms are too difficult to live with.

Hormone replacement therapy has decreased over the past ten years, although it is still an effective treatment for some individuals. HRT can reduce menopausal symptoms and decrease the risk of osteoporosis. Still, the side effects and health risks associated with the process make it necessary to carefully consider the therapy before choosing it for long term treatment.

Weight and appearance now define social and economic opportunities, whereas surname, old school tie and family network used to. Celebrities, movers and shakers and the wealthy are active participants in the wellness revolution today, establishing a beachhead in diet, exercise, vitamins, nutritional supplements and reversing the ageing process. People are actively pursuing healthier lifestyles but don’t have the time for it and there is an upsurge in interest in cosmetic alterations and anti-ageing treatments.

What is wellness? It’s about prevention rather than cure. Curing being the prevail of the medical or the sickness industry. People don’t necessarily choose sickness but can actively choose wellness. The medical industry tends to treat the symptoms, not the underlying problem but very often people have neglected themselves for too long, offering little alternative. Even pharmaceutical companies are more incentivised to spend R & D resources on treating rather than curing ailments, and certainly have little interest in prevention. Because of their economic might they exercise a great deal of influence in the medical fraternity. Health-care funding is a R40 billion+ industry in South Africa alone.

In an increasingly chronic stressful environment, people have less time and look towards “a pill for every ill” solution instead of focusing on the discipline required to establish a sound physical infrastructure. Food, diet and exercise are often neglected. In the USA, 61% of the population are overweight and in ill health. This situation is matched in other developed countries and it is reasonable to assume that a similar picture is emerging in advanced developing nations like ours. The processed and fast food industries have grown exponentially but there is an increasing movement towards healthier lifestyles. This is reflected amongst the wealthier echelons of our population and mirrored by the growth and success of the gym/fitness sector.

Many modern maladies are explained away as a consequence of the ageing process but more and more people will come to realize that stress-related ailments, headaches, body pain, fatigue, arthritis and thousands of other common ailments can be combated by a focus on lifestyle choices. Many existing holistic health practitioners are seen as fringe and also often don’t exploit proven business practices but in the USA, the burgeoning wellness industry represents a turnover of $200 billion pa and some anticipate it will grow to $1 trillion within the next 10 years. Around the world the size of the opportunity is enormous for business minded operators.
